The core workflow

Share Claude Code chats with one request

Say “share this chat” and InstaShare locates the active session, redacts recognized credentials locally, uploads the transcript, and returns a link you can paste into an issue, review, message, or document.

One natural-language request

The skill handles session discovery and upload. You do not need to hunt through project folders for a JSONL file.

A link anyone can open

Recipients only need a browser. They do not need Claude Code, an InstaShare account, or access to your machine.

The useful context stays together

Prompts, responses, tool calls, command output, code, and images remain in one navigable transcript.

Built around the way Claude Code already saves sessions

Claude Code records each session as JSONL under its local project directory. The InstaShare skill uses the current working directory to identify that project and selects the most recently modified session file as the active conversation.

That means sharing does not depend on copying the visible terminal buffer. The structured session record is used directly, preserving details that are easy to lose in screenshots or pasted excerpts.

Useful for collaboration and durable handoffs

A share can capture how a bug was diagnosed, why an implementation choice was made, which commands ran, and what changed along the way. It is useful when a final code diff does not explain the reasoning behind it.

  • Attach the investigation to a pull request or issue.
  • Send a debugging trail to a teammate without exporting a terminal recording.
  • Keep a readable record of an experiment or architecture discussion.
  • Show the exact context behind a generated patch or recommendation.

Public by link, not a private workspace

Every share is available to anyone who has its URL. InstaShare does not currently provide passwords, invited-reader lists, or organization-only access. Treat the URL as sensitive and review the result before distributing it broadly.

How it works

01

Install the skill

Place the readable SKILL.md in your Claude Code skills directory.

02

Work normally

Use Claude Code in the project and session you want to share.

03

Ask to share

Say “share this chat.” The skill finds and prepares the active transcript.

04

Use the returned controls

Open the public URL, save the delete URL, and optionally claim the device.

Important limits

  • The shared transcript can include tool inputs and outputs, filenames, commands, and other context beyond the visible assistant prose.
  • Local redaction reduces accidental credential exposure but is not a substitute for reviewing sensitive conversations.

Try it in a Claude Code session.

Install the readable skill, then say “share this chat” when the conversation is ready.
